[Af_List] Borderline Ballroom 2008 call for performers

the Borderline Ballroom is looking for expressions of interest by
experimental musicians, audio artists, composers and improvisers for
its 2008 performance series.

Borderline Ballroom is a Christchurch based collective formed in early
2007 to facilitate the local development of sonic experiment in live
performance. We are all about the catalytic live experience in its
many forms, and are generally non-hierarchical, mixing the emerging
with the established in the hope of framing the extraordinary. We
support the growth of experimental music and audio art locally by
providing a stable and ongoing series of events, by encouraging the
growth of nationwide networks, and by extending the hand to national
and international touring artists keen to extend their NZ forays to
the South Island.

the Borderline Ballroom is currently building its programme for 2008.
This year, BB performances begin in late March. Loosely monthly, the
default date for Borderline Ballroom events is the last Thursday of
every month, although this is flexible with enough warning and for
those touring on strict itineraries - the best thing to do is approach
us with your queries. We provide: a space (the media club's blue room,
191 armagh street, central christchurch), support in sourcing
equipment (and accommodation, if needed), audio and photographic
documentation of shows, publicity via online and traditional print
media, our mailing list, the audio foundation list, and posters;
payment is in the form of doortake.
