Conch Records (and cafe) at 119a Ponsonby Road is perhaps an example  
of things going up again. A fine Sunday ritual: get a coffee from Jim,  
music advice from Brent. People from Base FM, George FM, KFM, Fleet  
FM, 95bFM are on to this well-known secret.

Speaking of, Auckland radio is a beautiful thing. Being able to listen  
to someone play both on the radio and out in a club is killer.  
Examples: Geezer Guy (www.georgefm.co.nz/show56.html), Stinky Jim (www.95bfm.co.nz/default,1518,stinky_jim.sm) 
, DJ Balkanetic (www.kfmradio.co.nz/show918.html), the list goes on  
and spans a lot of genres. The 09 might not be the hippest city in the  
world, but it does radio well.
