CALL OUT FROM PHIL DADSON:

Another call for participants: TOK TOK (Melanesian pidgin for
conversation)

(The HUMAN INSTRUMENT ARCHIVE)

The human body is the first instrument, with a sonic potential every
bit as diverse and unique as the human body itself. Worldwide, we
explore the sounds we can make with our bodies, often learning or
discovering something personal in childhood that is carried forward
and perfected as a sonic quirk and skill. Such sounds can transcend
language and instantly communicate qualities of surprise, awe and
humour.

The Human Instrument Archive is an ongoing collection of the unique
sounds people can produce with their bodies, recorded direct to
video. Some 40 recordings have been made so far. An art work focused
around the idea of communication that transcends language will
eventually be developed from the archive.

Anyone, with a sonic quirk or skill to perform can participate.

The recording is made in private without any other audience than the
camera and the operator (myself). Recordings are archived with the
permission of the participant and the understanding that your rights
and privacy are respected at all times.

Each recorded performance will be credited with a name (real or
fictional), unless otherwise directed by the performer involved.

If you have a unique body-sound to contribute, please email your
interest to me at dadsonic at xtra.co.nz and we can discuss details
about upcoming recording sessions, soon to be held in an easy-to-find
Auckland central-city location.

hoping to hear you,

Phil Dadson
