Cross St Studios (Cross St, Auckland City - behind k road)
Friday April 25th, 7.30 pm
$5

Netherdawn (Antony Milton / James Kirk)
Richard Francis
Tim Coster / Nigel Wright

This is another in the ongoing series of experimental audio/drone/sound art
shows held at Cross St. These are a lovely alternative to most other shows,
starting early, always cheap,BYO alcohol and always striving to feature
artists who do not regularly play Auckland, if at all. Bring the family,
some beers, your dinner, a cushion, whatever!

Artist Information:

*The Nether Dawn* is Antony Milton's droning 'midnight blues' project.
The sound
of a contemplative scotch in the early hours with rain on the roof outside.
Slow improvised blues ragas that occasionally morph into weird psychedelic
explosions. Fridays show will be in collaboration with James Kirk (Black
Boned Angel / Sandoz Lab Technicians + many more)

*Richard Francis* (aka Eso Steel) has been active as an experimental music
composer and improviser since 1996. His work over the years has explored
different techniques of sound generation and processing, with a focus on
manipulating field and object recordings of acoustic and electronic sounds
from the surrounding environment.

He has released solo and collaborative sound works on labels such as Drone
Records, Stateart, Celebrate Psi Phenomenon, Digitalis Industries, Absurd
and Scarcelight, as well as his own label CMR.

*Nigel Wright and Tim Coster* are regular contributors to the Auckland
experimental music scene, both as solo artists and as a duo. Their music
never at any moment falls into the background, but constantly engulfs the
listener in swathes of sounds so deep that one sometimes wonders whether
they'll be able to come up. Wright/Coster's 3" is available through Tim's
label Claudia.

Hope to see you there!

Nigel
