ARTSPACE is pleased to present a talk by British artist Paul Winstanley.
Winstanley's talk will focus on selective themes and paintings from the
last twenty years of his career. Deriving from photographs he has taken
himself, Winstanley's paintings deal with the transformation of meaning
in images from one medium to the other. The talk offers a prelude to the
survey exhibition of the artist's work at ARTSPACE in early 2008.
Paul Winstanley lives and works in London. His paintings are widely held
in international collections including Tate Collection, The British
Council, MOCA Los Angeles, Irish Museum of Modern Art. He exhibits
regularly at galleries around the world. Group exhibitions include Munch
Revisited, Museum am Ostwall, Dortmund, Germany, 2005, Flashback,
Kunstverein Freiburg, Germany, 2004, Watery, Domestic, The Renaissance
Society, Chicago, 2002. Solo exhibitions include Annexe, Art Now, Tate
Britain, London, 1997, Driven Landscapes, Camden Arts Centre, London,
1993.
