I believe that was Richard Neave; Nick Hodgson was on drums.
The talk a few people on this list have made of Nick's youngness makes me
think: will he be forever young? This is a guy who was making improvised
noise music back in the '80s and who has a discography that'll be pushing
quadruple figures now. Much of it has been barely heard, since it was
mostly while the great NZ experimental music infrastructure/network was
still a fledgling (which makes Simon's comment about myspace a little
ironic - who here doesn't have a myspace page?).
He's been doing pop music for a while too. I haven't heard the recent
Shocking Pinks material but I'd be interested in how Montessouri's
Infinityland (Nick's pop album recorded for Shrimper in the mid '90s)
compares with the Shocking Pinks' Infinity Land (released by the Nun this
year). Anyone done a comparison?
