(Ex Calibre) Thurs 29th 9:30 PM
The Terminals have been going for 21 years , as of Guy Fawkes night
this year. That night they played at the Gladstone Hotel supporting
the Max Block ??. This week they play in Auckland for only the 2nd
time in that long illustrious (none dare call it a) career. The venue
of choice being the The Whammy Bar.
Promoting their new album "The last Days of the Sun" on US
label Last Visible Dog, the band ends a 12 year quiet patch and heads
north for dates in Auckland and Wellington. The band didn't ever
break up in this period but for several reasons did not perform more
than once or twice a year, and there wasn't a lot of song writing.
This all changed in 03 when Steven , Peter , and Brian came up with
16 or so new songs and started to plan a record. This was not
straight forward, but after several attempts the band all got into
the same room twice to record the album and following a cull of a few
tracks, appeared with the new CD.
The band released an EP and an Album on Flying Nun in the late
80s and then after their only line up change released 2 CDs on german
label Raffmond, these 2 CDs, Touch and Little Things are to be re-
issued later this year, remastered and with bonus material, late on
in the 90s the band also released a live Cd on dunedin label
Medication. Also steven John and Mick made an album under the name
Minus Two, Peter and Brian played together in Flies Inside the Sun
releasing 5 Cds locally and internationally, Peter is currently in
Eye and Brian is in the Renderers.
The TErminals are from L to R
Peter Stapleton, John Chrisstoffels, Steven Cogle,
Brian Crook, and Mick Elborado.
