Over the next few weeks Aucklands experimental, jazz, and improvised  
music scene will have a boost from some international heavy weights  
here to perform as part of the Wellington Jazz Festival.

1st off a trio featuring dutch based musicians Eric Boeren, Wilbert  
de Joode, and Michael Vatcher bring a rare glimps into some of the  
most exciting players in the European improvised music and  
contemporary jazz scene. Influences from three highly individual  
performers who draw from a range of projects and collaborations that  
include John Zorn, Available Jelly, Han Bennink, INTERMISSION, and  
Magpie Music Dance Company.

Two weeks later Susie Ibarra will be passing through with Electric  
Klulintang.

Susie Ibarra and Roberto Rodriguez collaborate to create Filipino  
gong electronica with hypnotic beats and haunting melodies that  
explore the essence of trance. Roberto Rodriguez: electronics/laptop,  
cajon, percussion, kit, Susie Ibarra: electric and acoustic kulintang  
kit with expansive soundscapes.

Each group of artists will be stopping in Auckland to be involved in  
workshops and performances alongside top local performers including  
Phil Dadson, the Dominion Centenary Concert Band, and Jef Henderson  
for some rare and special performances.
